About Us
The Chaska Area Chapter of Let's Go Fishing is entering its second season of operation in the summer of 2011!  A primary goal of our chapter continues to be giving Active Older Adults (AOA's) ages 55+ opportunities to enjoy themselves on Lake Minnetonka pontoon trips at no cost.  Whether it be fishing or slowly navigating the many bays on a pleasure cruise, your volunteer captains want to make your experience memorable.  During our first season of operation, our Chaska Area Chapter also provided opportunities for area youth to enjoy the experience of the open water and fishing.  In 2011 we've expanded the program for area girls and boys with a "Take A Kid Fishing Clinic" which includes a classroom setting for the youth to be mentored by AOA volunteers followed by complementary fishing trips on nearby Lake Minnetonka.  Free rods, reels and tackle boxes are all part of our offering in introducing kids to the life long sport of fishing.  An additional value of the Chaska Chapter is the volunteer opportunities it gives to the many men and women who step forward to help build community through helping others.  Allowing the many who are gifted to assist in making others happy is a main purpose for being who we are.

Much of what happens with the Chaska Chapter of Let's Go Fishing begins with our sponsors noted elsewhere on our webpage.  If you should have an interest in finding out more about sponsorship opportunities and benefits please call 952-227-7745.  We are 100% dependent on our sponsors for staying operational.  The chapter success is also predicated in large part on The Lodge and the Chaska Community Center which serves as its primary dry land headquarters.  In addition,  Howards Point Marina on Lake Minnetonka and their staff have provided a summer home for our program allowing us access to their dock and the lake.

If you would like to volunteer or find out more about who we are and what we do give us a call at 952-227-7747.  There are many different volunteer opportunities both on and off the water.  If you are involved with group homes, churches, or organizations that cater to those ages 55+ who you feel would benefit from this program please call us.  We especially encourage assisted living and nursing homes in Carver and Scott counties to give us a call.

You are never too old to live life and enjoy all that a Minnesota summer day has to offer.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

The Many Volunteers of the Chaska Area Chapter of Let's Go Fishing
